Tour Summary

Enjoy a thrilling sailing cruise through the beautiful waters surrounding Key West on our Nineteenth Century skipjack, the Danger. These trim craft were once utilized for oyster harvesting in the Chesapeake Bay. Later, these sleek sailboats were used for commercial fishing and sponge harvesting in the Florida Keys. We use these restored historic vessels because of their elegant design, fantastic speed, and shallow draft. This shallow hull allows these vessels to navigate around reefs and through the salt marshes that proliferate in the region.

After gliding silently across the cerulean waters off the Keys, you will visit an amazing secluded coral reef for some snorkeling. Our savvy local captain will transport you to a dive spot that is not overrun by tourists so that you can actually explore a coral garden without feeling crowded. Our staff will choose the snorkeling destination according to the tides and weather for that particular day in order to ensure the best possible snorkeling experience. Our helpful crew will provide all of the required snorkeling equipment for all clients, including wetsuits and prescription-class masks in the wintertime.

After your snorkeling expedition, we'll transport you to the Mangrove Islands for an exhilarating and enlightening kayaking excursion. Our guides will teach even the rawest novice how to maneuver these stable craft. Our ecologically aware staff will also be on hand to help you identify the local flora and fauna. The tidal marshes of this nature sanctuary provide habitat for an assortment of creatures, including aquatic birds, mantas, various tropical and game fish, sharks, and much more.

Thanks to the professional guides! I was a bit worried about kayaking because I had never done it before, but the instructions were great and I had such a good time!
