There are not many tours in Key West that are quite like the Classic Day Sail. This tour takes you out on a truly impressive vessel, the 80-foot wooden pilot schooner sailboat known as the Adirondack III. This is not your average Key West boat, nor is it your average sailboat. This schooner vessel is designed in the style of late 19th century and early 20th century sailboats, harking back to Key West's heyday as Florida's richest and most populous city. The Adirondack III features mahogany trimmings, and teak decks. Its sails are almost 2000 square feet big. Once you are standing on the Adirondack and smoothly sailing out to sea, you will understand why so many people prefer sailboats over any other type of boat.
With the Classic Day Sail, a few lucky guests will join our friendly crew for an hour and a half journey out to the Gulf of Mexico and past some Key West's most well known landmarks. Most of the tours include sights of well-known Key West landmarks such as Fort Zachary Taylor, the Sunset Pier, the Sand Key Light Tower, and Mallory Square. The majority of trips also include sights of the area's resident marine and aerial creatures. Keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready because you never quite know when a pod of dolphins will make themselves present just feet from the sailboat or when a flock of sea birds will offer guests a majestic display above the boat's massive sails.
This is a great way to start your or to simply take a break from a busy day of sightseeing and exploration. Key West has a lot to offer but no vacation to Key West is complete without being out on the sparkling blue-green waters. The Classic Day Sail allows you to experience the day when the sun is at its highest and the waters at their clearest. The Adirondack III is designed to minimize the movement of the sailboat, making it as smooth a ride as possible. And since we typically head out to the Gulf of Mexico, you can expect calm waters almost every day of the year. Guests of all ages will be thrilled to be out on the water, with the sun shining brightly above and the soothing sea breeze gently stroking your face.
Anything can happen on this sailing journey. The main point of the trip is for our guests to experience a memorable yet relaxing journey out to sea aboard one of the island's most distinct sailboats. On board, you will be able to sip on a selection of beers, wine, champagne and sodas, all available to of-age guests for $1 per drink. We don't have food on board but we do encourage our guests to make a lunch occasion out of the Classic Day Sail. Bring a picnic lunch with you and set up on board the schooner for an unforgettable lunch out on the waters off the coast of Key West Florida. If you don't know where to grab some food, we always suggest the nearby Schooner Wharf Bar and Restaurant, one of Key West's most well-known and well-loved establishments.

I have been to the Bahamas many times, but Schooner Sunset Sail is one of my favorite trips! It includes everything that everyone should do here. As a Bahamas veteran, I can say only the best about this experience!
Thanks to the professional guides! I was a bit worried about kayaking because I had never done it before, but the instructions were great and I had such a good time!
The best way to discover nature! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
